In addition to our Bumpus Reading Celebration, our school would like to collect children’s books to donate to the STAIR Program -  “Start the Adventure in Reading”. The mission of this organization is to improve the reading skills and self-esteem of second graders who are currently reading below grade level. STAIR works with Birmingham City Schools to help students improve their reading abilities with biweekly, one-on-one attention by a trained tutor.  Books collected will be given to students to take home for summer reading. We want everyone to be readers and life-long learners. There will be a collection box in the lobby outside the lunchroom. Thanks for your book donations!
